About This Assessment

The AI Readiness Assessment evaluates your organization's preparedness to deploy artificial intelligence successfully—not just technically, but organizationally, ethically, and strategically.

Most organizations rush into AI without foundational readiness. This tool helps you identify gaps before they become expensive failures, and prioritize investments that will have the greatest impact on your AI success.

Framework Sources

This assessment synthesizes best practices from leading AI maturity frameworks and regulatory guidance:

NIST AI RMF
AI Risk Management Framework
EU AI Act
Regulatory Requirements
ISO/IEC 42001
AI Management System
Gartner AI Maturity
Enterprise AI Readiness

Assessment Dimensions

The assessment evaluates six critical dimensions of AI readiness:

Dimension What It Measures
Data Foundation Quality, accessibility, integration, and lineage of data that would feed AI models
Technology & Infrastructure Compute capacity, development processes, tool stack, and security architecture for AI
Talent & Skills Technical talent, business literacy, leadership understanding, and upskilling programs
Governance & Risk Policies, model risk management, bias testing, and explainability capabilities
Ethics & Compliance Regulatory awareness, human oversight, privacy by design, and accountability frameworks
Strategy & Use Cases Strategic alignment, use case pipeline, value measurement, and change management

Maturity Levels

Each question is rated on a 5-point scale corresponding to maturity levels:

Score Level Description
1 Not Started No capabilities in place; AI discussions are nascent or non-existent
2 Exploring Initial pilots or discussions underway; ad-hoc efforts
3 Developing Foundational capabilities being built; some consistency emerging
4 Established Consistent practices in place; actively scaling AI initiatives
5 Optimized Mature, automated, continuously improving AI capabilities

Industry Weighting

Different industries have different AI readiness priorities. When you select an industry, dimension weights adjust accordingly:

Industry Higher Weight Rationale
Financial Services Governance, Ethics & Compliance Regulatory scrutiny and model risk requirements
Healthcare Ethics, Data Foundation Patient safety and data privacy imperatives
Retail Strategy, Technology Speed to market and customer experience focus
Manufacturing Technology, Data Foundation Operational technology integration requirements

Tailored Recommendations

Each of the 24 questions has three tiers of recommendations based on your score:

Score Range Recommendation Focus
1-2 (Foundational) Building basics—essential first steps to establish capability
3 (Scaling) Standardizing and expanding—moving from pilots to consistent practice
4-5 (Optimizing) Automating and innovating—advancing mature capabilities further

This ensures you receive actionable guidance appropriate to your current maturity level—not generic advice that doesn't fit your situation.
